I would usually give a cookie cutter preppy place like this about 3 stars but they are getting bumped up to 5 thanks to the super nice happy hour staff. I often come here for an early dinner with my toddler. They are totally cool with giving us an entire booth to ourselves. Staff always remembers our usual (complicated) order, a rare customer service occurrence in Vancouver.

It was a busy Friday night but we still got in quite quickly. The staff was friendly; the atmosphere was welcoming. I enjoyed the decor and there was a long list of interesting cocktails. I would definitely return for more drinks.

Warm and inviting atmosphere, good comfort food at a reasonable price, fantastically friendly service. Closer to the restaurant end of the bar-restaurant spectrum, but you could turn up with a group of friends for a drink after work.
Booths for drinking, tables for eating and a bar. Timber roof beams help keep the background noise down. Fireplace footage loops on two TVs over the bar- a little odd but a welcome change from sports or news.
Good range of house cocktails and Main Street Brewery beers on tap. A selection of cheeses are available. The pot pie, fried cauliflower and Scotch eggs are recommended.
Regular jazz performances, and a Robert Burns (the Bard of Ayrshire, Ploughman Poet) night.

Incredible Sunday roast! Large portion size with roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and perfectly roasted vegetables. Great selection of beers with plenty of local options. Feels like and authentic, contemporary British pub.
Unfortunately they don’t have high chairs for little people but there is plenty of booth seating available.

The drinks here are always excellently mixed, and they are delicious. Even the ones that had flavors in them I'm usually not a fan of. The bartenders are great at knowing exactly when to come over and ask if you need anything, too. I've been here twice so far, and I already know I'll be back for more.
If you like to drink a lot though, it can get kind of expensive; "14 units a week, up to 3 in one evening, spaced an hour apart" is the mantra for your liver and your wallet. Plus, trust me, you're way smoother *before* that fifth drink.
