Came with a large group on a busy night with a small lineup, and was shocked to be seated right away (sure, good timing and luck may have had something to do with it, but we were pleased nonetheless). Drinks were great. The food hit the spot. Everyone had a pretty good time.

Jacklyn was so sweet! She made sure my drink was good after I made some modifications and was really sociable. My friend and I will be back again because of this experience :)

Cactus Club Yaletown is a decent establishment. I went for a semi busy, mid-week happy hour. The service was average as the waitress didn't check if we would like to order more a couple of times. We ordered two drinks at a time to circumvent the business of her section. The happy hour lager at $3.50 each is hard to beat around the city during the 3-6pm happy hour. I ordered the jambalaya which, for $13 was quite a solid happy hour dish. I was surprised how generous the meat was in the portion, which was quite large and filling. The meat was plentiful but the dish was rather bland. All in all, you can't complain as it was a happy hour dish for a fair price. I'd give it a 7/10.

UPDATE (March 2019): I had an other opportunity to come back and have dinner. The place was full on a Friday night but our waitress was very attentive and I never felt rushed. The food was great and cocktails were nice too.
I'm glad I gave the restaurant another chance after our not so positive dinner. We had a lovely night and we'll definitely go back.

Worst service ever. They run out of the drink special (what a coincidence), and did not offer any substitution. The server kept walking away as we were ordering without even apologizing. She didn't even try to accommodate a special request one of our friend had. Rude and unprofessional.
Food and drinks are the same at all locations, so the service really does make a difference.

My wife and I always come into the Cactus Club Cafe in Yaletown, and receive nothing but good service and great tasting food. On our last visit, our waitress Kaylee was extremely personal and took the time to engage with us to make our night even better. It’s nice coming to a restaurant where the staff treat you like they actually want you to be there. It was worth the 45 minute wait.
