Designed by Vancouverite Shiloh Sukkau, the restored heritage building was inspired by the surf culture of Tofino, Baja and SoCal, with graphic tile work and beachy accents alongside heritage brick. In addition to classics such as the al pastor taco, the Gastown location is serving up quirky combinations such as a lamb birria taco with arbol chili and pickled nopals, and a spicy kabocha squash and pickled cauliflower tostada that packs a punch.
Delicious tacos and a wonderful non alcoholic drink selection. Tacofino is awesome and this location is especially great as it is large enough you generally do not have a wait. Nor are you crammed right beside a bunch of other people due to a lack of room. Also you can easily wait for your to go orders here! Great service and great food! What more do you need? Get a fish taco.

The service was really good. The decor is very eye catching. Between two people, the dip + four tacos was more than enough. The blood orange cocktail was perfect.

I had a weird and uncomfortable customer service experience here. I had never been here before, so I went in and ordered a burrito. Once I had it I headed to one of the many open tables but an employee stopped me and said people with burritos are not allowed to sit at the tables. I was confused and thought that she assumed I was bringing outside food or something and I showed her, look it is a burrito from here! She said she knew that but burritos aren't allowed in the seating area. I was confused because I had just spent $14 on a lunch entree but couldn't take a seat. No one at the front had mentioned this and I felt really embarrassed and awkward, and it wasn't this way at the Tacofino I went to in Victoria. So I went the front where there is a small separate counter to eat burritos. Then, a manager or something came over unprompted as I was about to leave and spent a few minutes explaining how it was a really tricky system to grasp and they were sorry I didn't get it. At first I thought she was coming to do some customer service or something but it felt like a patronizing lecture and I just really wanted to leave at that point. I will definitely not be back to a Tacofino again.

What a hidden gem! In the heart of Gas Town it is everything you would love and expect from a traditional taco place with fresh ingredients and fantastic flavor. Great service, perfect corn tortillas, fantastic house hot sauce and salsa! The only disappointment was finding it towards the end our trip. Would go back in a heartbeat and suggest you bring your appetite!

Great food! The taco bar chicken burrito is amazing. Brought a couple of friends here and they loved it too! Restaurant inside is busy, but the taco's served there are also on another level. Overall, fantastic food and service!
