Had a lunch during work week there with my colleagues. Made a reservation which was in place when we arrived. We all had lunch specials and tea. The service was good, quick and friendly. Food was good. Portions were reasonable. Good experience and value for money overall.

We just went once, the food and services are really good, especially the fresh coconut! However, the most rememberable thing was the people sat besides us. We can’t have a proper conversation because that other person was talking too loud and clear and it was like she was directly speaking to our ears, though she was not. During lunch, we got to know her and her family a lot without even speaking to her or even having eye contacts once. The restaurant should consider this and find proper music and control the volume so that people won’t hear other people’s conversations, or, just lower your voice, there is no need to do a full speech in a restaurant. If I’d like to know you better, I’d buy you a drink first.

4.5 stars for malaysian food - we have been many times and it's been consistently of great quality
Service could be better though. Having 5 servers dealing with you within the same evening is quite a record - rushing to get our order in yet still 45 minutes before closing time. Then, seeing the staff bringing in a pizza from elsewhere while customers are still in should not happen.
Will be back for the yummy curry and rice.

If you're going to enjoy Malaysian food in Vancouver, this is the best based on my forays! The service is great, the vibe good, and the food fantastic. Sharing portions, fresh, good ingredients, authentic flavours. I do love this location of the Banana Leaf restaurants. The chefs here are definitely great ambassadors to the cuisine. Very yummy indeed.

Horrible experience! came during the weekend, ordered some drinks and wines, i know this is a busy restaurant so i was always cautious and careful not to stress the servers out.
We came early in the evening where the restaurant was not full or busy at all so we could get better service, we had ordered wine and some juices for our kids, and waited more than 20 minute before receiving them. we never had to experience this kind of service in either banana leaf or any other restaurant. A younger male waiter took our drink orders, and we noticed he was busy on the phone so we did not bother him. Thus, we scanned around the restaurant to see if we could find someone else to check on our drinks.
2 other servers seem to be running around with plates on both hands so we couldn't manage to wave them down... a older lady with gold hair walked towards us so we tried to ask her about our drinks, she just walked PASSED us ignoring us as if we are not there.. did she do it on purpose?? we then notice compared to all the other servers, she was just wondering and walking around aimlessly. I guess she is the restaurant manager?? NEVERTHELESS, should she not try to help us instead of just managing the restaurant???
I am Sorry BANANA LEAF, your service has gone down hill since the last year, service wasn't attentive as it used to be anymore, it feels like it has become more like a fast food restaurant, dine in quick, exit quick
